Mountain Dragon

So been working on my new portrait for an art competition I heard about from my nana and thought I give it a shot. Decided to work on this as a fantasy theme illustration with a dragon standing on a mountain or something. First part I show was the sky and wanted it to have the texture of the sky and some light and dark cloud background. Watch some video tutorials for some ideas and will get this done hopefully and turn out well when I finish it. It's been awhile since I did acrylic paint but shouldn't be difficult form years of using a brush.

I managed to do the rest of the sky with lighter blue and fade into the horizon while the rest in the bottom corner could have some mountains and a forest. Been working on the mountain using different shades of brown, mostly something called burnt umber and black to mix with it for another coat with a bit of white for the lighter effects. The darker areas I needed for the shading so they don't look flat and have some depth between the dragon and the mountain cliff.

Finally completed it, took awhile as I had other things that kept me busy lol. Been having some thoughts of what to add for the final touch either a forest, more clouds or mountains. So I chose the latter as I thought a mountain dragon would fit well in the scenery and heed much of the brown I had to for the texture. Changed the outer wings for a different colour but left some hint of orange so it had some highlights through and tried to add some more light for the head and other areas of the body. Hope you like it and let me know what you think of it or anything that might or could've worked or not.
